This true story-inspired film stars Dustin Hoffman and Robert Redford as Carl Bernstein and Bob Woodward, journalists for The Washington Post who uncovered the Watergate scandal. They investigated the failed 1972 theft case at the Democratic Party Headquarters, specifically the Watergate apartment complex.

With the help of a mysterious source, codenamed Deep Throat (Hal Holbrook), the two find evidence that points to the involvement of White House staff as well as President Richard Nixon. Despite many threats and winding obstacles, the two journalists did not give up uncovering one of the biggest political scandals in the United States.
